Why Trust CleverScores?
Most prediction sites show you their winners. We show you everything. Every pick is written to the database before kick-off, graded automatically when the result comes in, and counted forever — whether it was right or wrong.
This page sets out how the predictions are produced, what we will never claim, and where the limits are. If anything below turns out not to be true, tell us and we will either fix the page or fix the practice.
Not every match is predictable
Plenty of fixtures are close to a coin flip. We sort predictions by how confident the model actually is, and we label the ones that are too close to call instead of dressing them up as opportunities.
Some days there are only a handful of high-confidence calls. Some days there are none at all — and on those days we say so, rather than manufacturing something to fill the page.
What we commit to
A promise is only worth whatever backs it. Each commitment below is paired with the mechanism that makes it true.
-
The promise
Every prediction is recorded before kick-off
Predictions are written to the database when they are generated, with a timestamp, before the match starts. They are not edited afterwards. There is no version of a pick that only comes into existence once we know how it went.
-
The promise
We never delete losing picks
Losses stay in the record permanently and count against the published figures. Nothing is quietly removed after a bad weekend. If a prediction existed on this site, you can still find it and find how it ended.
-
The promise
Accuracy is public and graded automatically
Results are settled by an automated process against the final scores — not by hand, and not by judgement. That means the numbers cannot be flattered even if we wanted to flatter them.
The accuracy dashboard shows how the model is performing, and the track record is the underlying ledger of predictions behind those figures.
-
The promise
We show confidence, not certainty
Every prediction carries a confidence level taken from the model's own probability for that outcome. A 55% call and an 80% call are not presented as the same thing, because they are not the same thing.
-
The promise
We explain how the predictions are made
Predictions come from the 8th Day Engine — our own statistical model, built on historical results, team and player data, and current form. The model produces a probability first; the write-up explains that probability afterwards. The reasoning you read is a description of the model's output, not a story invented around a pick someone fancied.
Where market prices are used, they are used to calibrate the model — to check whether our probabilities are drifting systematically — not copied and republished as our own analysis. If all we did was reprint the bookmakers' prices, there would be no reason for this site to exist.
-
The promise
We won't publish a number we can't support
The engine has bad weeks, and some competitions are harder to model than others — lower divisions, cup ties and early-season fixtures all carry more noise.
We would like to show you a reliability figure for every individual league. We are not doing that yet, because most leagues do not have enough settled predictions behind them for the number to mean anything. A percentage drawn from a handful of matches looks authoritative and tells you nothing. Per-league figures go up when the sample supports them, and not before.
What we will never do
- Sell guaranteed winners. Nobody has them. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling something.
- Run a paid tips service, VIP group or private channel. Everything here is free and public.
- Put predictions behind a paywall. The full record is visible to everyone, including the parts that make us look bad.
- Chase losses in public. We do not inflate confidence after a bad run to try to win it back.
- Tell you how much to stake. We publish probabilities. Staking is your decision alone, and we will never suggest an amount.
- Pressure you into betting. No countdowns, no "last chance", no urgency language anywhere on this site.
Betting always carries risk
CleverScores is an information and analysis site. Nothing here is betting advice, and a prediction is not a recommendation to place a bet. A model that is right 70% of the time is still wrong three times in ten — and those three can arrive back to back.
Only ever stake money you can afford to lose entirely. If betting has stopped being entertainment, if you are chasing losses, or if it is affecting your money, work, sleep or relationships, please talk to someone. Free, confidential help is available around the clock.
